Award for Outstanding Medical Librarianship

We are delighted to announce that UNCOVER's Marshall Dozier has been recognised by the European Association of Health Information Libraries (EAHIL), with their 2022 Award for Outstanding Medical Librarianship, Contribution to the Field or Special Services, and Dedication to EAHIL.

Marshall was celebrated at the 2022 European Association of Health Information & Libraries Conference, which took place at the beginning of June. Fellow attendees welcomed her success with a standing ovation.

UNCOVER's Co-Lead, Dr Ruth McQuillan, said:

"This is such lovely news and I can’t think of anyone more deserving of such recognition, appreciation and affection. So many people in Usher have worked with Marshall over the years, and she has supported generations of staff and students.  I’m sure everyone will be delighted to hear this."

Marshall has been a member of UNCOVER's Core Team from the beginning. As our Information Specialist, she is the linchpin that holds all of our reviews together. Without her endless patience, dedication and hard work to support the development of searches for each UNCOVER rapid review (sometimes in the shortest of timeframes), and her helpful and constructive advice to the many students who have now done an extended project or dissertation with UNCOVER, it would simply not be possible for us to do the work we do. We have first-hand experience of just how outstanding Marshall's contribution to medical and health librarianship is, and we are delighted that her work has been justly recognised at an international level.
