ISQua, the International Society for Quality in Health Care, has established The International Academy of Quality & Safety (IAQS) as a prestigious institution to honour distinguished individuals who have made significant contributions to the field of Quality and Safety in Healthcare. Membership in the Academy is not just a recognition, but a lifelong honour that signifies the highest level of achievement and distinction for individuals working in this area.

The founding members of IAQS, consisting of 35 exceptional individuals, were elected in June 2018 by ISQua Experts and the Board. These members were carefully selected based on their outstanding expertise, remarkable accomplishments, and profound impact on the advancement of healthcare quality and safety.

The IAQS members serve as ambassadors for excellence, embodying the core values of quality, safety, and patient-centered care. They represent the pinnacle of achievement in their respective fields, including research, academia, and service delivery related to quality and safety in healthcare. Through their extensive knowledge, experience, and dedication, these individuals contribute significantly to the mission of IAQS and play a vital role in shaping the future of healthcare.

Recently welcomed members include Kathrin Cresswell from the Usher Institute, along with Alan Forster, Ana Terezinha Rodrigues, Anuradha Pichumani, Astolfo Franco, Ethelwynn Stelleneberg, Kazue Nakajima, Kris Vanhaecht, Lydia Okutoyi, Pankaj Kumar Arora, Rakesh Verma, Richard Greenhill, Robyn Hudson, and Tina Janamian.
