The University’s City car parking area encompasses the George Square Area, Old College, Holyrood, The Pleasance and Edinburgh College of Art (ECA).
Only certain types of University permits are valid for use in City car parks. Use of other University permits which are not valid, or failure to hold a valid permit, will result in the issuing of a £60 Parking Charge Notice.
Visitors and contractors
Visitors and contractors may park in any City car park using a Permit valid for the City areas. Contractors may also park in any City car park using a Contractor City Annual Permit. Information on how to obtain a Permit can be found on the Visitors and Contractors page.

George Square Area
Note that Edinburgh Council parking regulations apply in both George Square itself and on Buccleuch Place.
