Appointments and Activities

Mr McKechnie was appointed as a Defence Medical Services Consultant in General Surgery in 2017. This followed a trauma fellowship at the Royal London Hospital and travelling fellowships to Los Angeles, Baltimore and Toronto.  The latter, as the ASGBI Moynihan Travelling Fellow.

Mr McKechnie is general surgical lead for major trauma and major incident planning in NHS Lothian.  He is actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, instructs on a number of trauma courses and is an e-tutor on the Masters in Surgery (ChM RCSEd).

Mr. McKechnie's qualifications are:
