Appointments and Activities

After graduating from the University of Aberdeen medical school, Mr Hughes completed surgical training in South East Scotland. Mr Hughes was appointed as a Defence Medical Services consultant in HPB and general surgery in 2020 following completion of an HPB and trauma fellowship in Oslo, Norway.

Mr Hughes actively participates in surgical teaching within the University of Edinburgh medical school and has an ongoing research interest in Enhanced Recovery After Surgery and prehabilitation.
