The University’s Trans Policy (Staff) has been updated following input and feedback from our community. The policy replaces the previous Trans Equality Policy that applied to both students and staff. There is now also a separate Trans Policy (Students).
A new Reasonable Adjustments Policy is also being launched to support disabled staff to fully participate in working life.
These policies outline the processes and procedures that are available through University systems, and provide support and guidance for our community. These are the latest in a suite of policies rolled out over the last few years to create a better experience for all our staff and students.
Both the Trans Policy (Staff) and the Reasonable Adjustments Policy, along with guidance materials, will support and encourage discussions between colleagues and their managers.
Having these policies reflects a modern understanding of workforce demographics and health needs, that contributes to the wellbeing of all our colleagues.
