Background
Yusuf is an agricultural scientist & economist, with more than ten years of research experience in agricultural systems. He holds a BSc in Agricultural Engineering (Cukurova University), an MSc in Agricultural Economics (University of Hohenheim), and he earned a PhD degree (Humboldt University of Berlin) with his research on GHG mitigation strategies in agriculture, and economics of N fertilization. Prior to joining GAAFS, he was based at Embrapa Digital Agriculture — mainly involved in a project on modelling soil organic carbon (SOC). He will continue his research in the same field of study with a focus on analyzing the economic tradeoffs of accounting SOC stocks in the framework of carbon trading on the project “Optimizing protocols for agricultural soil carbon monitoring and prediction based on the value of information”.
