Xinyi Yang

Background

In 2021, I completed my Master's Degree in Counselling Studies from the University of Edinburgh. As a counsellor and social researcher, I am currently pursuing a doctoral training program of the PhD in Health in Social Science, where I am conducting research on mental health service accessibility for international students and immigrants.

Prior to this, I worked as an intern at the Shanghai Changning Mental Health Service in 2018. I was trained for cognitive psychology in my bachelor's degree and completed the research with FMRI. Since obtaining my Master's Degree, I have obtained a Counselling and Psychotherapy in Scotland (COSCA) qualification. I am currently exploring the intersection of mental health services and school psychology, using various methodologies from psychology, public policy, and the humanities.
