Background

I'm originally from Tehran. My family emigrated to the United States not long after the Iranian Revolution. I received my BA in philosophy from Reed College in 2005. I received my PhD from MIT in 2011. Before joining the Edinburgh philosophy department, I was a fixed-term lecturer at Birkbeck College and an associate professor at the University of Illinois, Chicago.

Research summary

I've written about a variety of topics in the philosopy of language, the philosophy of mind, and metaphysics. My current work is largely about identity, Frege's Puzzle, and truth. I'm also interested in the history of philosophy, particularly medieval Islamic thought.
