Research summary

While earning my Bachelor's in English literature, I studied the first novel published, the romance Pamela (though excessively problematic...) by Samuel Richardson. While earning my Master's in communication I  studied media representations of romance and love. My third degree led me to examine the real-life love relationships that fall outside the accepted norm, which I continue to study today.

Current research interests

I am interested in qualitative methodology, specifically narrative inquiry. We live and understand life through stories. I am examining the lived experience of being polyamorous and being part of a polycule (network of polyamorous adults in relationship). As a psychotherapist, I work with individuals, couples, and groups. I specialise in people curious about or practicing polyamory or other forms of ethical nonmonogamy.

Past research interests

While working on my Bachelor's in English, I concentrated my studies on the development and feminist critique of the novel as a literary form. My first master's degree is in communication and my thesis used the feminist philosophy of Luce Irigary to critique popular romance novels. Next, I recieved a Master's in Couple and Family Therapy. During that time I completed a master's thesis that was a narrative inquiry of 9 polyamorous individuals.
