Background

I lead the Pre-Arrival and Induction team within Student Recruitment and Admissions.

As a team, we are responsible for coordinating and enhancing all of the pre-arrival and induction information and resources that are used and delivered across the whole University in order to help each new student to transition into their new university life as successfully and smoothly as possible. We do this in two main ways; coordinating and sharing PAI information internally across nearly every team in the University to guide consistency of knowledge and delivery and also in designing and delivering the essential information in many communication formats for the new students.

I am very passionate about constantly developing and enhancing how and what we communicate to our new students, before and at the start of their student journeys, so that they are equipped with all they need to settle in, feel valued and part of the University community.

We split up our projects amongst the team and I project manage the following:

  • PG Welcome Events (inc. Services Fairs)
  • Parents' and Supporters' Info Events (Open Days, Post-Offer Visit Days, Online Sessions and Arrival Weekend)
  • January Induction (inc. co-managing Taste of Scotland)
