Thesis title: Targeting aberrant autophagy and metabolism in chronic myeloid leukemia stem cells

Background

I'm a Scottish student who has studied Biochemistry and Bioinformatics and the University of Glasgow. I aim to use both wet and dry lab skills to investigate drug resistance in chronic myeloid leukemia stem cells.

Qualifications

BSc Biochemistry

MSc Bioinformatics

Research summary

I'm primarily interested in the metabolic remodelling that occurs in leukemic stem cells (LSCs), which is a significant factor contributing to the survival of treatment resistant LSCs.

I'm investigating this aspect of LSC biology utilising single cell/transcriptomics, and metabolomics. I hope to gain greater insight into LSCs by conducting paired metabolomic and transcriptomic analyses which could provide greater investigative power.
