Education Development Manager

Background

Katie Murray manages the design and development of the Edinburgh Futures Institute’s new portfolio of postgraduate and undergraduate programmes. Katie also implements and monitors the Futures Institute’s strategic and operational plans for the education team, including responsibilities for leading market research activities; engaging industry, external stakeholders and students to assist in designing educational programmes that meet their needs. Katie was a coach on the Edinburgh Futures Institute’s undergraduate elective ‘Students As Change Agents,’ and was nominated for an “Edinburgh University Students’ Association’” award by her students. She works closely with colleagues and teams across the University to support the Institute’s challenge-led, collaborative approach.

Previously, Katie set up a Non-Governmental Organisation with a mission to improve the lives of young people in Scotland, she has also worked internationally in the West Bank and Greece for nonprofit organisations. With experience working across the public, private and third sectors, and a focus on sustainability, education, sport, and creative projects, Katie continues to contribute to innovative projects alongside her role at the Edinburgh Futures Institute. Katie has a Double Honours in International Relations and Art History from the University of St Andrews.
