Background

I am an educator with expertise in data science, Computing Science, digital media computing, 'digital making', computer games development and moving image education. I work with teachers, colleges, universities, SQA, SSERC, industry and government to help support data science education and Computing Science in Scotland.

I worked with the SQA to develop the National Progression Award in Data Science, as well as the online assessments and the Educators and Learners Guides.  I worked with Education Scotland to rewrite the Computing Science curriculum for young people aged 3-15. I worked with academics from Edinburgh, Glasgow and Strathclyde Universities to write a guide to teaching Computing Science for Early Years and Primary Practitioners.

I am an experienced trainer and public speaker and have presented at events and conferences in UK, Europe and the USA. I have curriculum development experience with the SQA, Education Scotland, Creative Scotland, SSERC and Global Kids. I have worked in almost every sector of education (Secondary, FE, HE and Special education).
