Background
Jonathan Thomas studied at the Universities of Cambridge and Oxford, and held academic posts at Cambridge, Bristol, Warwick and St. Andrews before coming to Edinburgh in 2002.
He has held visiting positions at the Universities of Constance, Tilburg and Erasmus, Rotterdam. He is a Fellow of the Econometric Society and a Fellow of the British Academy.
His research interests include game theory, contract theory, international debt and labour economics. Recently he has been working on the macroeconomic implications of equal treatment in labour markets.
