Background

I am a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Edinburgh and at the Hungry Mind Lab, University of York. My research interests centre around how experience interacts with biology during the early years, resulting in individual differences in socio-emotional, cognitive, and motor development. I completed my PhD in Linguistics at the University of York, where I held an ESRC +3 Studentship and an HRC Doctoral Fellowship. My doctoral research investigated cerebral specialisation for vocalisation and facial expression of emotion in pre-linguistic infants. Before joining the University of Edinburgh, I worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate with the Hungry Mind Lab, and previously held other research and teaching positions at the University of York, the University of Leeds, and Leeds Beckett University.
