Background

Martina obtained her PhD in Chemistry at the University of Barcelona followed by post-doctoral research at the Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology, A*STAR in Singapore. She has been working in the Biotechnology industry successfully managing projects in the areas of assay development, analytical chemistry, high-throughput screening and purification of biologics.

2008 - 2011 Postdoctoral research at IMCB A*STAR: "Signal transduction in cancer"

2003 - 2007 PhD in Medicinal Chemistry at University of Barcelona: "Modulation of TRPV1 receptor involved in inflammatory pain"

1999 - 2002 BSc in Chemistry (Honors) at Tecnologico de Monterrey: "Aldol condensation reactions catalysed by Lewis acids"

Responsibilities & affiliations

I am responsible for managing a portfolio of projects under the newly funded EIC Transition programme IBDSense in the Institute for Regeneration and Repair.

My role involves managing technology development, and regulatory activities, engaging with clinical and industrial stakeholders, and liaising with commercial suppliers.

 These involve overseeing the technical prototypes to expedite translation, facilitating the translation of technologies with clinical partners, and leading and managing industrial collaborations.
