Background

I completed my PhD at the University of Edinburgh in 2001 and began teaching at New College at that time. I am historian and my main interest is the relationship between religion and popular culture. My research has been in the transmisison of Christianity in the Pacific Islands and I also have an interest in gender and popular religiosity in Early Modern Europe.
