Research summary

My research focuses on the place of music (both as an art and as an idea) in the later critical writings of French poet, translator, and art critic, Yves Bonnefoy (1923-2016).

More generally, I am interested in the role of the idea of music in literary (especially poetic) texts, intermediality, poetic and art criticism and theory.

Knowledge exchange

I organise the Postgraduate reading group "What Is Poetry?" in which we read and discuss poets' critical writings, notably attempts at defining poetry.
