Dr Andrew Clausen

Lecturer

Background

I studied computer science and mathematics in Australia before starting my PhD in economics at the University of Pennsylvania. I am interested in designing institutions that promote accountability, such as policing, journalism and the legal system.  For example, I am interested in trade-offs such as loyalty versus independence, transparency versus privacy, rewards versus punishments, and accuracy, i.e. protection from false accusations versus accountability for true accusations.

Current research interests
