Background

Jonathan Marten read Natural Sciences (Zoology) for his BA at the University of Cambridge, as a member of Pembroke College. He stayed for an MSci course in Systems Biology, and in 2013 moved to Edinburgh to join the QTL group in the MRC Human Genetics Unit as a Data Analyst.

In 2015, he began a PhD with the group, and is currently investigating the role of genetics in regulating serum urate concentration, and how this can affect health and disease.
