Background

Forty years in system-based quality assurance  I bring a wealth of knowledge to my role in database and clinical research management.

Health Data Science and Leading and Managing Data Driven Innovation are two of the areas I am currently studying as part of my CPD and Masters. ONS Safe Researcher valid to 2025.

In order to enhance the research and publication portfolios of our junior doctors, trainees and consultants I provide support for projects that have been authorised via data requests from the Edinburgh Orthopaedic Research Database (EORDBase).

In addition, in order to introduce our students to the reality of carrying out clinical research, I provide supervision and technical help with projects that have been decided by their supervising clinician. This might mean a full application to the Research Ethics Service or may be authorised via data requests from the EORDBase.

Awards: June 1998: University Medal,  June 1998: Philip Henshaw Prize for Public Relations,  June 1991: Institute of Quality Assurance,  June 1981: Edinburgh Master Printers Prize.

Track, road, country, hill and ultra running keep me sane. Golf drives me mad. All things outdoors make me happy. Fairisle knitting restores calm.
