Steering group

The Global Development Academy, the Global Environment and Society Academy and the Global Health Academy provide a step change in the way the University is able to build multi-disciplinary responses to these complex global issues.

This programme has been initiated by the Global Academies as part of the University's commitment to offer world leading interdisciplinary postgraduate degrees that equip future leaders to tackle global challenges. It is overseen by a steering group of the directors of the Global Academies.

Professor Mark Rounsevell

Assistant Principal Global Environment and Society, Director of the Global Environment and Society Academy and Professor of Rural Economy and Environmental Sustainability in the School of Geosciences.

Professor Sue Welburn

Assistant Principal Global Health, Director of the Global Health Academy and Professor of Medical and Veterinary Molecular Epidemiology at the Centre for Infectious Disease.

Professor James Smith

Assistant Principal Global Development, Director of the Global Development Academy and Professor of African and Development Studies at the School of Social and Political Science.
