University scholars honoured by Royal Society of Edinburgh
Scholars from the University of Edinburgh have been awarded Honorary Fellowships by The Royal Society of Edinburgh.
Some 18 Edinburgh academics are among the 91 new fellows elected from across the sciences, education, the arts business and public life.
The academics were recognised as “some of the greatest thinkers, researchers and practitioners in their field in Scotland today”.
Inspiring Scotland
The Royal Society of Edinburgh (RSE) looks to award the most brilliant minds who can inspire and support future generations of Scottish talent. This year’s new members will be joining the RSE’s current Fellowship, which comprises 1,800 members committed to making a positive impact in Scotland and beyond.
Leading scholars from all three of the University’s colleges were awarded. The list also includes Dame Katherine Grainger, head of UK Sport and an Olympic gold medallist, and a University of Edinburgh alumnus.
