Teachers’ strike action
Guidance for staff during teachers’ strike action which will impact schools across Scotland throughout February and March.
A number of the teaching trade unions have announced ongoing intermittent strike action in schools across Scotland over the coming weeks. While we hope the action will be resolved soon, we understand that any strike action by teachers may have considerable impact on staff who have children in school or nursery.
As a reminder, staff should make childcare arrangements to be at work as normal wherever possible, or working from home where it is not possible to make alternative arrangements. If you can't work from home because your role can only be performed on campus, and you have no alternative care options for your child or children, you should use Emergency Time Off for Dependents or annual leave.
Please discuss your circumstances with your line manager at the earliest opportunity to allow mitigating actions to be put in place if required.
