Plans for 2024

After careful consideration, a decision has been made to pause the Learning and Teaching Conference for one year in 2024. The conference is a hugely successful and popular event that recognises some of the excellent learning and teaching at the University – and it will be back! However, pausing the event next year will allow the organisers at the Institute for Academic Development more time and resources to invest in other platforms for sharing learning and teaching practice, and in ongoing work to transform and update our curriculum.

If you have any questions or queries, please get in touch with the conference team on lt.conference@ed.ac.uk. A selection of feedback from this year's event is below.

Thank you for all your hard work to hold the conference on campus as well as online. Through attending talks and workshops, I gained new knowledge and ideas for my teaching. …This conference gave me a good opportunity to meet others who are practicing research-informed teaching, and student-centered teaching, and value innovation to everyday teaching practice!

Thank you so much to the whole team behind the conference: every single one of you did a marvellous job! And the result was what you probably hoped for: a couple of days of thought-provoking as well as hugely enjoyable learning for all attendees!

The conference was amazing and felt so inclusive. Maybe we are already used to an online format and being a distance learning student, I didn't find in anyway secluded. My voice mattered and sessions were seamless; speakers and moderators were prompt and kind to answer all queries. I wish I could be there in more than 1 session at once.
