Rail strike action

Information for staff about upcoming action which will affect rail services in June 2022.

Network Rail members of the rail union RMT will be striking on Tuesday 21, Thursday 23 and Saturday 25 June 2022. This is part of national rail strike action across Great Britain.

This will have a considerable impact on some staff travelling to and from the University.

We would encourage staff who usually travel by rail to use other forms of transport wherever possible or speak to their line managers about the possibility of working from home.

Our Estates department has confirmed that car parking monitoring will be suspended for staff on these days to provide more flexibility for staff travelling to our campuses. The position will be reviewed should the strikes continue beyond these dates.

The most up to date information on the strike action can be found on the ScotRail website.

Please speak to your line manager in advance if you have any concerns or to discuss working from home on these dates.
