Employee Assistance Programme extended until October 2023

The University's Employee Assistance Programme (EAP), which offers counselling appointments for staff, with shorter wait times, has been extended until 31 October 2023.

The EAP aims to support employees with personal or work-related issues that may impact their job performance, their health or their mental or emotional wellbeing.

The University works in partnership with external provider, MCL Medics, to deliver the programme for staff. It was first introduced in November 2021 as a way of supporting the existing University Staff Counselling Service to offer more counselling appointments to staff who need them, at shorter notice.

Operating alongside our staff counselling services, it offers up to six telephone or video call appointments with trained counsellors.

How does it work?

MCL Medics work closely with our existing University Staff Counselling Service to support staff who need counselling appointments.

The service is also available to the partners and dependents of staff living in the same household, aged 18 and over.

The EAP also provides access to a legal and financial helpline which supplies information and advice on a range of issues.
