Stunning designs catch eye at fashion show
Voluminous layers of red PVC, sustainable cable ties and an array of Swarovski crystals will feature in a futuristic fashion showcase.
The eye catching creations have been designed by fashion students for Edinburgh College of Art’s fashion show Front Row, sponsored by Cazenove Capital.
The runway show will take place in the National Museum of Scotland on Friday, 25 May. In a twist on the traditional catwalk show, every audience member will have a front row seat.

Student Maddy Stringer’s striking outfit was inspired by her childhood dolls’ house and hotel soap packets.
She has embossed brightly coloured sheets of PVC with traditional prints to create a giant textured showpiece.
Sustainable fashion was Aurelie Fontan’s focus. She has grown her own textile to make a huge black and bronze ensemble, which is held together using soluble cable ties.
Masters student Rhys McKenna’s futuristic menswear outfit was inspired by sculptural and painterly working methods.
He has experimented with a range of innovative materials and techniques to create an oversized structured suit interlaced with crystals.

We are thrilled Cazenove Capital has supported this year’s show, and the National Museum of Scotland is an ideal setting in which to showcase students’ designs. Our graduating year have developed imaginative and innovative concepts, which I am sure will captivate audiences.
