New conference looks to inspire learning

The University’s first conference on learning and teaching will take place this summer.

Booking is now open for staff to attend the University of Edinburgh Learning and Teaching Conference on Wednesday 20 June.

The event will take place in the John McIntyre Conference Centre at Pollock Halls from 9am to 5pm.

Inspiring learning

The conference will focus on the theme of inspiring learning and will be opened by the University Principal, Professor Peter Mathieson.

A morning keynote presentation will be given by Professor Amy B M Tsui from the University of Hong Kong. Professor Tsui will speak about transforming student learning through university-wide curriculum reform.

In the afternoon, Dr Katarina Mårtensson and Dr Torgny Roxå from Lund University, Sweden, will give a keynote presentation about changing teaching cultures in higher education.

The vibrant conference will include a range of presentations on learning and teaching from more than 60 students and staff from across the University.
