Exclusive staff discount for Edinburgh International Festival shows
As one of its Principal Sponsors, the Edinburgh International Festival is offering University of Edinburgh staff the chance to get half price tickets for two of this year’s most anticipated shows.
From 18 July 2018, for 48 hours only, University of Edinburgh staff can get an exclusive 50% discount for Martyn Bennett’s Bothy Culture performed by The GRIT Orchestra, and Autobiography from Company Wayne McGregor.

Martyn Bennet’s Bothy Culture

Celtic fusion artist Martyn Bennett’s kaleidoscopically rich album Bothy Culture is brought to life in truly epic style by The GRIT Orchestra led by Greg Lawson.
Following the huge success of GRIT in 2016, this performance will carry on in the spirit of Bennett’s love of ‘musical alchemy’, creating new hybrids of ceilidh music, rave and techno culture and traditional folk instrumentation from around the world.

Autobiography

Combining body-shaking electronic beats and immersive lighting with dynamic set design and projection, Autobiography is the latest stunning work from choreographer Wayne McGregor.
At the cutting edge of contemporary dance McGregor founded his own company in 1992 and is renowned for his ground-breaking collaborations across dance, film, music, visual art, technology and science, McGregor now turns his attention to the body as living archive, with a dance portrait illuminated by the sequencing of his own genome. Every performance of Autobiography is unique, an experience for dancers and audience alike that’s never again repeated.
