UniForum benchmarking exercise

Staff are taking part in a multi-university study of administration and support services.

UniForum is a strategic initiative that will provide the University with insight into how the professional services that support our teaching and research activities are resourced.

Staff exercises

Throughout May, selected staff will take part in an “activity coding” exercise that will classify each team’s activities according to a standard framework.

All areas providing professional or support services that support teaching or research will be participating, including Schools and Colleges.

The results will allow us to assess how we currently deliver our services and how this might be improved in terms of capacity, location and management.

Service provision

The study is being undertaken by 17 Russell Group universities, which will allow the University to compare its own service provision with that in other institutions.

Selected staff are also taking part in a survey to measure the effectiveness of our service provision, which will provide an important context to the results of the activity coding exercise.

The outcomes will be shared with staff later this year once a full analysis has been carried out.
