ERI becomes Edinburgh Innovations

The University’s innovation management service was recently renamed Edinburgh Innovations.

Previously called Edinburgh Research and Innovation (ERI), the service will undergo significant changes as it transitions to Edinburgh Innovations.

This will see the service update its strategic goals and launch a new website and logo.

The move signals Edinburgh Innovations’ commitment to delivering a service that drives benefit for industry and society in line with the University’s strategic goals and ambitions.

Wider role

Edinburgh Research and Innovation reflected the service’s history as a technology transfer office, legal services and research support office.

Edinburgh Innovations now reinforces its wider role beyond a technology transfer office at Edinburgh, as the research support office and legal services have now integrated into the University.

Global impact

The University’s strategic vision is focused on enhancing global impact through an approach shaped by innovation and a deeper and earlier collaboration with industry, the public sector and the third sector.

Edinburgh Innovations supports this ambition and, together with its partners, will generate new opportunities for the University.

Industry engagement

Edinburgh Innovations provides a proactive approach to the latest funding and industrial challenges to support the University and its ambition to be a global leader in industry engagement.

As the innovation management service, it will continue to deliver sustained societal and economic impact from the widespread benefits of engagement among staff, companies, students, alumni and the University.
