NHS Shuttle Service

From 26 December 2016 the NHS Shuttle Service will permanently cease operations.

Currently, the NHS Shuttle between Little France and the Western General Hospital is jointly funded by the NHS and the University. The NHS have decided to withdraw their funding, triggering a review of how we can best support the inter-site travel needs of our students and staff.

This review has concluded that alternative public bus services are in place that provide more frequent and often faster connections with the city centre and other University sites than the NHS Shuttle was able to.

Staff and students who are directly affected by these changes should already have been informed of the alternative arrangements that are available.

Staff are encouraged to use the faster and more frequent public bus services for their inter-site business travel needs. Walking, cycling, and use of the Enterprise City Car Club is also encouraged.

A full list of the alternatives to the NHS Shuttle Service can be found on the Transport & Parking website below.
