Cultural heritage

This year's St Andrew's Day concert will celebrate Scotland's rich cultural heritage with a range of music from some of the country’s finest artists.

Many of the performers are, or have been traditional artists in residence at the School of Scottish Studies Archives. The performances, which will draw on Scotland's wealth of musical tradition, include Scott Gardiner, Katherine Campbell (both Scots song), Margaret Callan (Gaelic song), Allan MacDonald (Highland pipes) and Gary West (Lowland pipes).

Student musicians and singers will also perform. The event will pay tribute to the late Dr Jean Redpath MBE, an internationally renowned Scottish folk singer who performed at previous events.
