New Senior Vice-Principal
The University has appointed Professor Charlie Jeffery as Senior Vice-Principal.
Professor Jeffery will take up the post on 1 October and succeeds Professor Mary Bownes.
The Senior Vice-Principal supports the University by deputising for and advising the Principal, and plays a leading role in the development of University strategy and policy.
Professor Jeffery will incorporate his current role as Vice-Principal Public Policy and Impact into his new remit but will cease to act as Associate Head of the College of Humanities & Social Science.
Professor Bownes will step down as Senior Vice-Principal and take up a new part-time post as Vice-Principal Community Development.
I am delighted that Professor Charlie Jeffery is to be the next Senior Vice-Principal. Charlie has already made a significant contribution as Vice-Principal Public Policy and Impact and will bring great expertise to this new role.Mary has been a great ambassador for the University and I am very glad that she will continue on a part-time basis.
New Assistant Principals
Two new Assistant Principal positions have also been approved, with immediate effect.
Professor Arthur Trew has been appointed as Assistant Principal Computational Science while Kevin Collins is now serving as Assistant Principal Industry Engagement, Industry Funding and Big Data.
