THE award for procurement excellence

The University of Edinburgh has won the Outstanding Procurement Team Award at the Times Higher Education Leadership and Management Awards.

The judges were “immensely impressed” by the high standard of achievement by the Procurement Team, which had emerged as the “clear winner.”

Achievements

The University of Edinburgh’s Procurement Team has delivered savings to the university of approximately £12 million, over the 12 months to March 2013.

The Team’s efforts have also achieved outside recognition, achieving the Investors in People standard and, for the third year running.

Edinburgh's Procurement Team also secured the highest rating in the Scottish Government’s Procurement Capability Assessment (and recording a new high score in 2011-12).

Hard work, creativity and a steady nerve are essential qualities for those leading our universities, and the winners of our awards have all three in spades. Our universities are fortunate to have such superb individuals and teams leading the way.
