New Vice-Principal appointed

The University has appointed Professor Jane Norman as Vice-Principal Equality and Diversity.

She will take on her new role on 1 January 2014.

She succeeds Professor Lorraine Waterhouse, who will retire at the end of December 2013.

Strategy and performance

Professor Norman is Professor of Maternal and Fetal Health and Director of the Edinburgh Tommy’s Centre at the Queen’s Medical Research Institute.

As Vice-Principal Equality and Diversity she will oversee the University’s equality and diversity strategy and performance.

I’m very much looking forward to working with staff and students in Edinburgh and to building on Vice-Principal Lorraine Waterhouse’s achievements in ensuring a positive culture, where all are able to develop to their full potential.
