The competition, organised by the National Association of Student Employment Services, recognises students who:
- successfully combine work and study
- make a significant contribution to their employer’s business
Students have the chance to win £200, and the award is likely to impress future employers.
Last year Brian Baillie, from LaunchEd, the University’s support service for student entrepreneurs, nominated Physics student Eimear O’Carroll in the International Category.
Eimear went on to take the runner-up prize in the UK competition.
David McDwyer, also a Physics student, took the top prize in the ‘Off Campus’ category.
David was awarded for his work setting up an inspiring teaching project in local schools.
