Equality guidelines for REF 2014

The University has launched the Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2014 Equality & Diversity (E&D) Code of Practice.

The code of practice has been introduced to ensure the fair, equitable and transparent selection of staff for inclusion in the REF 2014 submission based on the excellence of their research.

Clear guidance

The code provides staff with clear guidance about the process through which individuals will be selected for inclusion in the University's REF submission.

It also offers advice to staff involved in the decision-making process, about how to apply the selection criteria in terms of equality and diversity.

More information

Staff with queries relating to the code of practice should contact their Unit of Assessment Academic or Administrative Coordinator, in the first instance.

Further information on the University's REF preparations can be accessed from the University’s wiki on the topic (EASE authentication required).
