Staff LGBT network

Staff members are invited to join or get involved in setting up a new lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) network at the University.

Plans to set up the network are being announced to coincide with LGBT History Month this February.

Get involved

Dave Rigby from University HR Services is taking the project to create the network forward.

Anyone interested in getting involved should email Dave to register their interest by the end of February.

Dave can also be called on 650 6973 if anyone would like to discuss the network before responding.

All responses will be treated as confidential.

First meeting

An exploratory meeting for those interested is planned for March or April.

This meeting will be an opportunity to discuss the purposes of the network, how it will operate and to identify key roles.

More details will be to provided to those who have registered their interest.

LGBT History Month

The University is playing an active role in LGBT History Month.

Talks being hosted by the University include:

  • Lesbianism and Domesticity in Post-War Lesbian Oral History
  • Transgender Technologies: the Internet, Blogging and Self-Narrativisation in the Construction of Contemporary Transgender Identities
  • From Subtext to Gaytext?: Scottish Fiction’s Queer Communities
