She was awarded the title at the PraxisUnico Impact Awards, which rewards the best examples of knowledge transfer in all sectors of research.

Business development

Dr Vujovic is one of Edinburgh Research and Innovation’s Business Development Executives based at the Roslin Institute, where she provides dedicated business support to the Institute and the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies.

Part of Dr Vujovic’s role is to increase the number of Roslin researchers involved in industry or aware of its added advantages.

Successes

In just over three years, more than 75 per cent of group leaders at Roslin have become engaged in knowledge transfer associated activities.

Through Dr Vujovic’s support more than 40 funding awards, worth in excess of £8 million, have been granted to the Institute.

She has also played a key role in the establishment of the five-year Easter Bush Research Consortium, a Pfizer multi-million pound partnership in animal health.

I am delighted that Sonja has received this award, which is just recognition for the dedication and innovation she has shown in her work at Roslin.
