S&E shares its research equipment

The College of Science & Engineering is inviting staff from around the University to find out more about the research facilities and equipment it hosts.

Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy

The all-day event Get Your Kit Out! offers staff an excellent opportunity to find out more about what resources are available at the College and how they can be used more widely.

Learn and network

The event will take place on 14 June on level 3 of the James Clerk Maxwell Building at King’s Buildings.

Attendees can visit exhibition stands hosted by the Schools of Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Engineering, GeoSciences and Physics & Astronomy.

There will also be opportunities to take part in tours, attend talks and network informally with colleagues.

Staff can register for the event and find out more through MyEd.

Pooling resources

The event has been prompted by the Research Council’s spending restrictions on new kit and equipment.

The University is keen to encourage the sharing of equipment resources across disciplines.

Given the Research Council’s emphasis on equipment sharing, I would strongly encourage staff to use the event to explore the potential for sharing and cross-disciplinary use of our equipment and facilities. It will also provide a forum for staff to meet and explore potential collaboration based around the facilities’ use.
