EUSA scoops national awards

Edinburgh University Students’ Association (EUSA) has picked up two awards at the National Union of Students’ Scotland conference.

EUSA won the Community Relations Award, while Societies Coordinator, Lizzie Brough, received the prize for Student Union Staff Member of the Year.

Community partnership

EUSA has demonstrated a strong track record of supporting the local community.

The Students’ Association has helped more than 1,300 students find volunteering opportunities through its volunteering scheme, which launched in September 2010.

It has also been involved in initiatives to help students and non-students work in partnership together on local projects.

Societies support

EUSA hosts more than 280 student societies, more than any other union in Scotland.

Ms Brough was recognised for her contribution in supporting these groups, and ensuring they get the most out of their experience at Edinburgh.

These awards recognise the commitment and enthusiasm of everyone involved in the students' association and the work that we've achieved. Lizzie herself has done fantastic work coordinating EUSA's 280 societies, more societies than any other union in Scotland.
