Honorary degrees
The ceremony will see honorary degrees awarded to the following special guests:
- Mrs Nosheena Mobarik, Joint Chief Executive, M Computer Technologies and CBI Scotland Chair
- Professor Tommy Smith, jazz musician and composer
- Mr Scott Hastings, former international rugby player and commentator
- Mr Mel Young, President and CEO, Homeless World Cup
- Lord Puttnam of Queensgate, independent film producer (Chariots of Fire) and public policy campaigner.
Event details
To attend the event, staff will need a free ticket, which will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis. Only one ticket per person is permitted.
E-tickets must be exchanged for an official ceremony ticket in person from Academic Registry, Old College, between Monday 7 and Friday 11 January, during office hours, 9.30am to 4.30pm. You will need to show your University staff card.
Doors will open at 5pm, though attendees should be seated by 5.45pm. The ceremony is expected to finish around 7pm.
