Award for Careers Service

The University’s Careers Service has been awarded in recognition of delivering consistently high standards.

The Service has been accredited the matrix Standard, which is a nationally recognised quality mark for organisations that provide careers information, advice and guidance to higher education students and employers.

Good practice

The Careers Service was praised for its strong staff leadership, effective strategic planning and its commitment to improving services for students, employers and the wider University community.

The department was also noted for good practice in:

  • its contribution to developing employability and graduate attributes within the university
  • developing new services for international students
  • innovative use of information technology
  • building links with some academic Schools.

As students face the prospect of graduating in straightened economic times the quality of the help they receive to secure successfully their future career becomes ever more important to them and the University.
