Forth-inspired art donated

Kurt Jackson, one of Britain’s most celebrated landscape artists, has gifted three etchings to the University of Edinburgh Fine Art Collections.

Glimpse the Forth from Market Street

The works are taken from Mr Jackson’s current exhibition, ‘The Forth’, at Edinburgh’s Dovecot Studios.

Landscapes

An active environmentalist, Mr Jackson is influenced by the landscapes he’s explored throughout the UK.

His Edinburgh show, which runs throughout May, features a range of works inspired by the River Forth.

The black & white etchings donated to the University are titled:

  • Here in Loch Chon (2011)
  • Stirling Rain (2011)
  • Glimpse the Forth from Market Street (2011).

These three etchings represent the three stages of the river, the journey from source to sea. It seems logical that my work, especially this body of work, is represented in a Scottish collection. I am delighted to have my work represented in the prestigious University of Edinburgh collection.

Display

The Forth exhibition runs until 28 May.

If you would like to display one of these works in your building or office, please contact Jill Forrest.

Please note that the etchings should not be displayed in an area where they will be exposed to large quantities of light.
