Undergraduate student places

The number of places available for new undergraduate students is reviewed every year.

Reports of the University's decision to reduce the intake of undergraduates in 2010 need to be seen in the context of continued growth in applications and unprecedented increase in the uptake of offers in the last two years, resulting in our intakes being significantly higher than planned.

It is necessary for the University to address this and bring the total student population back within planned numbers as part of our commitment to the quality of the student experience.

This means that the intake in 2010 needs to be reduced.

As a consequence the total undergraduate population in the next academic year will be just over 3% lower than in the current year.
