The service will collate the University’s entire research output.
It will also make information about the University’s research more accessible to the global academic community.
Streamlining systems
The revised system brings together the previously staff-only Publications Repository (PR) and the Edinburgh Research Archive (ERA), a publicly searchable resource.
From January, all research staff must log their published output with the Publications Repository.
All work logged with the PR will then be accessible through the ERA.
Advantages for staff
The benefits of the new system include:
- raising the profile of the researcher
- reduced workload for researchers and administrators when preparing for future research assessments
- meeting the requirements of research funding bodies.
Information Services will provide help and support for service users.
Launch event
The Principal will host a launch event on 29 January.
This will provide an opportunity to find out more about the service and mark Information Services’ role in the project.
Booking for the event is available through MyEd.
