He has been selected for the Scottish Green List 2010, a roll call of the top 20 individuals who steer the projects and initiatives that help our environment.

Leading role

David, who is part of the Estates and Buildings team, was nominated for taking a leadership role in promoting sustainability initiatives to University stakeholders and colleagues.

These initiatives include signing up to 10:10, the ‘Switch and Save’ campaign, and waste and recycling improvements.

David led successful funding bids for energy-efficient heating technologies and the Transition Edinburgh University project.

He also helped establish the Social Responsibility and Sustainability Strategy Implementation Plan 2010.

These achievements have helped place the University as a leader on social responsibility and sustainability within the higher education sector.

Networking opportunities

David was selected for the Scottish Green List by a judging panel that included representatives from business, academia, community projects and the media.

Those who made the List will be invited to join the Scottish Sustainable Development Forum and the Scottish Green List Network, which will enhance opportunities for sharing, developing and lobbying ideas.
